Third-Party Services
Teengro uses the following trusted third-party services to operate:
- Supabase โ secure database, authentication, and file storage
- Google Gemini โ AI model powering tutor responses, multilingual replies, and diagram generation
- Vercel โ hosting and content delivery for the website
- Browser Speech API โ for voice-to-text input (runs locally in your browser; audio is not sent to Teengro)
- Cloudflare Turnstile โ bot protection on login and signup (no personal data collected)
- Google Analytics โ anonymous usage analytics to improve the app
- Google Fonts โ typography rendering
Each of these services has their own privacy policies and data handling practices.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption and row-level security so that only you can access your own data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access.
Chat history is stored in our database so you can revisit past conversations. You can delete individual sessions or all history at any time from the app.
AI-generated diagrams are stored in Supabase Storage (a secure file storage service) linked to your account. They are only accessible to you.
Files you upload (images, PDFs, text) for analysis are forwarded to Google Gemini for that single response and are not permanently stored by Teengro.
Flashcards are stored against your account in Supabase so you can study them across sessions and devices.
Voice input is processed entirely in your browser using the Web Speech API. The recorded audio never leaves your device โ only the transcribed text reaches Teengro.
Children's Privacy
Teengro is designed for students in grades 8โ12 (typically ages 13โ18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:
- Chat history โ kept until you delete it or close your account
- Generated diagrams โ stored in your account's file storage, deleted when you delete the session or close your account
- Flashcards โ kept until you delete them or close your account
- Usage data (streaks, study time, token count, badges) โ kept with your account profile
- Ratings on AI replies โ kept in aggregate to help us improve answer quality
